Top of the Rock in New York City
Welcome to my first web site!

Although I was born in the Bronx and Manhattan was my romping ground, I have resided in Albany for many years. Still, I miss the city and find I need to return once in awhile for a shot of the city life. This picture, taken at the top of the Rockefellow Plaza Building, was a first since the rooftop has been closed for many years. It just opened in 2005. It provides a unique view of Manhattan and the only skyscrapper view available of Central Park without paying an enormous amount for a hotel room or an apartment.
I hope you enjoy what I have to share. I love to travel and have been to many interesting places. Just recently, not exactly willingly, I went to Iraq. Although I could share many pictures of places I have been, such as New Zealand, Mexico, Greenland, Canada, the Carribean, and Egypt, pictures from these locations are not rare. What I can share with you are pictures from Iraq you are not likely to find so easily anywhere else. Not pictures of Iraqi citizens, or soldiers, or insurgents, or the impoverished, war-torn land, but seldom seen pictures of Sadaam's Palatial Grounds. I was fortunate enough to be stationed in that area during my deployment. I will also share some of my professional experience, educational goals, and some advanced techniques in Excel you might find useful.

Some of My Favorite Things

Although I do love the Sound of Music, I prefer old classic movies, soft rock, reading, horses, science fiction in general and anything Star Trek in particular. I love to camp, go white water canoeing, travel anywhere, ski, garden, and creative hobbies. I am interested in astronomy and science in general. I love roller coasters, and once told my son I hope to set the world's record for being the oldest person to ride a roller coaster - which would require I live a lot longer! I love adventure, and would jump at the chance to be on the Amazing Race just to partake in the awsome things they do.
While I was on a wilderness canoe trip in Canada, I heard an incredible and unforgetable sound - the call of a loon. Found only in remote areas, the loon is not a very remarkable bird, except for its call, which can be heard for miles over the lake waters it inhabits. It is a haunting sound, and an unmistable call of the wild.  If you would like to hear it, just click on the player control above. I hope you find it as enchanting as I did.
Finally, I am owned by 4 beautiful Italian Greyhounds (they are the toy version of the racing ones) and 4 wonderful cats. Married for 30 years, my 22 year old son has just finished training with the Marines and has started college to study nanotechnology. A long way from the kid with bright green hair who went to high school a few years ago.
I hope you enjoy looking around here, and if you would like to contact me to share your interests, you will find a link for email on the Contact Me/Guestbook page. You will also find an envelope on that page if you would like to tell someone to visit my site.  And Thanks!

I love to travel and when I do I try and find unique and adventurous things to do. The Florida Manatee is an endangered species and fully protected. There are only 2 places in the entire world in which you can interact with these big, slow, gentle, wonderful creatures, and that is in Florida. Their closest living relative is, amazingly, the elephant. They are very friendly, seeking to have their backs and tummies rubbed. It helps them get rid of the algae that grows on their skin. And when they have had enough company they glide over to their protected sanctuary areas to rest undesturbed.
